Today I want to take you on a new journey, where you get to question everything that you think you know about yourself, the choices you make, your habits and desires, your belief system, and how you determine which thoughts and behaviors are beneficial or detrimental for your overall well-being.

Because we hold many thoughts and beliefs about the world and ourselves, we are often faced with two conflicting thoughts. And…this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

All of us, and I mean all of us, have something about which we have contradicting beliefs and behaviors. So, when the tension arises, the only way we can perceive the difference between “constructive and destructive” thoughts is to question them to find out which serve our well-being, and which do not. In this particular moment, we are given an opportunity to examine our core beliefs and then choose consciously our dominant thought that brings us joy, peace, and integrity.

Napoleon Hill, the 20th-century pioneer of positive thinking, once observed that, “The subconscious mind makes no distinction between constructive and destructive thought impulses.” That’s why it is up to us to recognize the difference between the two.

Because our conflicting thoughts influence every single thing in our lives we need to remain focused and steer our thoughts in the direction of our overall wellbeing.

I’d like to leave you with the question:

What dominant thought are you going to nurture today?
